Details Itinerary of Upper Mustang Motorcycle Tour

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu.

Upon arrival, you will meet our representative and be transferred to the hotel. At around 3:00 pm, you will meet the Road Captain, who will introduce you to the Motorcycle Tour Upper Mustang and ride safely, then ride around the city to get familiar with the motorcycles.

At around 6:00 pm, you’ll be taken to Bhojan Griha, a typical Nepali restaurant. It is in a historical building that was built around 100 years ago. At the eatery, you’ll have the option to either sit at the tables or go for Nepali style floor seating and have your meal. A folk-dance program is arranged. After dinner, you’ll be driven to the hotel.

Day 02: Ride from Kathmandu to Pokhara.

After breakfast, start the Motorcycle Tour Upper Mustang. You will get-out of the traffic of the valley, just past Thankot. From here, the road twists and turns as you descend to Naubise. Then, the road becomes much wider. You will continue the ride till Mugling, the junction where the highway bifurcates between Chitwan and Pokhara. Head west, crossing the bridge, and follow the Marshyangdi River for 2 hours to reach the wonderful city of Pokhara.

Pokhara is an ideal vacationer’s paradise. Upon arrival in Pokhara, you will check in to the hotel, and after resting for a while, you will proceed for sightseeing tour.

Day 03: Ride from Pokhara to Kalopani.

On this day, you will leave Pokhara and ride towards Beni (70 km). This section of the ride provides fantastic vistas of amazing mountains, picturesque terraced farmlands, and an opportunity to walk on one of Nepal’s famous suspension bridges.

From here it is a really off-road motorcycle tour till Lo-Manthang. The road is unpaved and dusty with potholes in several places. The unpaved, gravelly road poses a real challenge for riders, and making it more difficult are the occasional river crossings.

Day 04: Ride from Kalopani to Muktinath.

After an early breakfast, the Motorcycle Tour Upper Mustang team will set out on the trail by following the Kali Gandaki River and passing through villages. En route, you will get to enjoy fantastic views of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167 m), Tukuche (6920 m), and Nilgiri (7061 m).

As you pass from green forests to a dry, arid desert, You will need to acclimatize gradually to the surroundings. Continue the ride towards Jomsom through the dusty gravel with the beautiful views of the rugged landscape, attractive flowing waterfalls, orange and apple orchards, scattered roadside villages and ancient Buddhist monasteries will make it ‘One Hell of a Ride’.

Day 05: Ride from Muktinath to Lo-Manthang.

After breakfast, we ride back to Kagbeni, the entry point of the restricted Upper Mustang region. Restricted area permits are checked here at the police check post.

After completing the permit work, continue riding to Geling through the Kali Gandaki River. As you ride on, you will reach Tangbe, Chele, and Samar. You will cross Chhuksang village, before finally reaching Samar, where you’ll rest for a while and have lunch.

After lunch, Motorcycle tour Upper Mustang team headed toward Lo-Manthang. Lo-Manthang is a medieval walled city on the Tibetan Plateau and the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Mustang. Lo Manthang was founded in 1380 by Ame Pal and many of the still-standing structures date from the early 15th century.

Day 07: Ride around Lo-Manthang.

As you approach the Chhoser village, you will see numerous caves in front of the cliff that once used to be the home of the pre historic Lobas and the monks. After the sightseeing tour, you will head back to the city of Lo for a hot lunch. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the walled village.

Day 08: Ride from Lo-Manthang to Kagbeni.

The village also boasts a monastery. It has only recently been opened to visitors, with a reasonable entrance fee of Rs. 100, which they collect for the maintenance of the school.
